Ellen Petrick, Director of Personal Training Programs at the TFC, holds a Master’s degree in Applied Exercise Physiology, and has been an A.C.E.-certified personal trainer since 1998, an A.C.S.M.-certified Fitness and Health Specialist Since 2005, and a certified Cancer and Exercise Specialist since 2007.  Ellen believes that the body and its systems must be considered as a whole, rather than as isolated parts to be worked individually.  She likes to work with her clients to develop plans that help them to improve function and fitness, athletic movements, and proper biomechanics while addressing any existing imbalances. Finding the right balance of intensity levels, challenge and recovery can also be keys to success.  Ellen likes to help her clients recognize obstacles to their fitness goals and guide them toward finding solutions that lead to their best outcomes.
Lisa Tanzer is pleased to share her love for all forms of fitness with TFC members and clients.  With over 20 years of experience teaching fitness and healthy lifestyles at the TFC, as well as a thorough education in the health sciences, she has a widely diverse repertoire of activities and programs to draw upon.  Her chief mission is to cater trainings and classes to the unique needs of her clients, exposing them to new styles and techniques.  Lisa’s formal education includes a Master’s degree in Anatomy, Neurobiology and Cell Biology from Loyola University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Concordia University.  A Personal Trainer for 15 years (A.C.E.), she is also certified for Cardio Training, Pilates Mat, Spinning®, Rehabilitative Exercise, Group Fitness and more.  Motivating each client to strive for more, Lisa creates the most satisfying active lifestyle plans possible for one’s circumstances and physical limitations.  With strong emphasis on core strength and balance, Lisa believes in “functional fitness”, making people better able to meet the demands of life- not just of sports- and has trained athletes, cancer patients, the very old and the very young, as well as those with chronic disabilities.  Lisa also loves to stimulate the energy that Group Fitness classes should be all about.  While safety is always foremost, her classes are fun!  She uses music, props, dancing, and drills to keep classes interesting and challenging.  Currently available as a Personal Trainer, Class Instructor, and Fitness Consultant.
